Virginia Regional Transit (VRT), a Transportation provider in the Commonwealth of Virginia, is celebrating its 30-year anniversary on August 28, 2020. VRT was founded in 1990 in Loudoun County by David Daugherty.  The association was formed with one bus to provide transportation for the elderly and disabled within Loudoun County.

President and CEO, Bruce Simms, remarked: “This is a milestone for any company. This company has continued its core values as it grew from one bus to over ninety buses and provides over 750,000 rides while delivering service to over 12% of the Commonwealth of Virginia.  VRT has enjoyed its success through the hard work and dedication of employees that truly care about each of our customers. We have dedicated ourselves to 30 years of being both creative and flexible to the ever-changing transit industry, and providing safe, effective solutions such as Fixed Route, On-Demand and Paratransit services.  VRT continues in its long tradition of excellence in grant funded transportation for Rural areas and as a contract provider in Small Urban areas within the Commonwealth.  While we look back with much appreciation for what got us to this 30-year mark, we remain focused on how transportation will change over the next few years and we will adapt to the needs for each locality we serve.”
